Everyday Superhero

capes and stripes
“It is time to go deeper. To hand over the reigns to children. To facilitate their creative ideas and assist them in creating participatory experiences for adults.” – Alex Desebrock

Maybe (  ) Together will be working with groups of children in November 2017 to investigate what is an Everyday Super hero. A deliberately broad concept, we want to investigate the expectations, inner-potential and actions adults and children have to make the world better. In an age of rising depression, this is about taking action to the streets and finding an outlet for all that weighs us down.

Artists: Alex Desebrock, Hannan Jones & Tanya Lee.
Provocateur: Kelli McCluskey
Producer: Zoe Street

This project has been funded by the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries (DLGSC) Culture and the Arts (WA)

As part of this work we are running some free public workshops. Click the flyer to book.

Maybe Workshops Together

Alex is able to customise workshops to a variety of scenarios. Below are a selection of workshops that can be scaled up or down as appropriate to children aged 5 to 12, families or adults only.

WDTWNTH workshopWhat Does the World Need To Hear?

A live art performance & random act of kindness. Children are facilitated to ponder this question & consider their role & power as a child and human. They create small postcards to leave in venues/galleries/public space & we do a live art performance with megaphones.

presented at Heide Museum, Disrupt Festival, TheatreWorks and various festivals.

Slip your hands under the curtain and let someone tell you a story through only touch.
This sensory experience invites children and adults to both tell stories through a different language.
